I can't help but laugh out loud everytime I see this video , It's amazing what stupidity coupled with total ignorance can do to a Country .

Now I am not dissing my country or saying that this is the Ultimate reason why we are where we are , But this is sadly the USUAL mentality of working people or the most of the people who live here , ( Mashy 7allak Rabena 7asahelha ! ) which means ( meaning is pending .... )

Extreme apologies for the owner of the damaged Car(s) I hope I didn't offend you , I just think its good to share these things to EXPLOIT the level of Ignorance we've recently reached .

GEELY equals UGLY , GEELYSHOP ? not that bad!

Hi ,

If you're like me ( A 23 Years old ... working & living in a third world country ) You can't simply Ignore the importance of a car , so I decided to buy one , my very first car , Although my dad Owns one , yet I am not allowed to drive it .

So back to the point , 6-7 months ago I was looking for a nice little car for arround 70,000 EGP ( Egyptian Pounds ) that's arround $12500 , Yepp that's way too low money to spend on a NEW car , but then again that's considered SOME GOOD amount of money here , especialy for someone my age .

However that AMOUNT of money couldn't let me buy anything that's really really what I like , Thanks to the countrys Customs & Taxes , any car here is sold for almost 2x of its price outside , Making a Value car , expensive and making an expensive car ... VERY EXPENSIVE CAR ! :P .

So some dealers decided to go the red way , the chinese way ... Little to my Knowledge that there are more than 14 Local chinese brands developing / designing and exporting cars ! of course brands I never heard of !

So the only thing that really made me look for these new cars is :

Price

Curiosity

so in 2 months periods , Chinese cars started to HOVER in our country , and now after a couple of years , you can see them in the streets just like any other european / american / asian brand , of course alot of people , ehm most people won't make them out , but people who were looking and researching like myself , i can SPOT out a chinese car even if it had another brand logo on !!

So Some of the brands reached our City Cairo were
Geely , Chery , BYD , Hafei , Brilliance , GreatWall Motors , Faw Xiali and maybe another 2 or so

Geely started first with thier series of UGLY looking hatcbacks with features equipment , the regular Egyptian consumer never heard of at that SEGMENT of cars , like Power Windows , Mirrors , ABS and such , since most of the Dealers here only import the ENTRY KIT LEVEL of any car , these cars had something unique , which again :

Ugly looks

Ultra low price ( compared to similar cars )

Features / Kit levels from higher car segments

But since I am an artist & an Architect , how a CAR LOOKS decide a MAJOR role in buying my car , so I totally skipped Geely & Chery , Although I loved the Chery A11 ( A rebuilt 1994 Seat Toledo with minor changes ) .

so After looking at almost DOZENS of diffrent chinese designs ( Or stolen designs ) I noticed that how STUPID these companies are , since I know how to use Photoshop , I Tried to ALTER the looks to some of the cars these chinese are selling and people are hating for thier desgisn , to Discover that with the simplest clicks of a mouse you can turn a very UGLY CHINESE car into a Normal if not a good looking car that can look japaneese or european , I don't understand how DESIGN is teached or handled in China , but I understand that even the SIMPLEST mind can think of good proportions at least , FULL RESPECT for Brilliance Auto , a Chinese company who make some really really GOOD looking cars that are equal to american/european brands ( Looks wise , I am not sure if they do technichaly ) .

So this is my rant about chinese car designs ! I hope anyone hears me ! All I've done to make this car LOOK at least NORMAL , a fake body kit , some bigger alloys and altered very very very small curves ... I don't think for a company thats call itself a GIANT like geely ,adding these won't cost more than another $500 !! but it would definetly make the car sell !
